Douglas Beckner Obituary

On Tueday, September 14th, 2010, Douglas Irvin Beckner of Bedford, VA joined his son in heaven. He leaves behind a loving wife, Virginia Beckner; two daughters Toni Robertson and husband Michael of Huddleston; Linda Durwin and husband J.D. of Bedford; and a son Jesse Blankenship and wife Tanya of Huddleston. He also leaves behind a brother, James Beckner and wife Mary of Boones Mill, VA; as well as 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. One of those grandchildren, Ashley, was his "special angel monkey". Doug also had a special 4 legged friend, Daisy. The family will receive friends for a special visitation on Saturday, September18th from 10 am-12 pm at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston with funeral services to follow. Those wishing to make memorials are asked to make donations to the Bedford Humane Society, P. O. Box 1293, Bedford, VA 24523. Arrangements by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
