Sam Welford Cassidy, 83 of Moneta, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Berkshire Nursing Home. He was born on Friday, April 8, 1932 in Bedford County, VA, a son of the late Oscar Cassidy and Merla Bessie Tuck Cassidy. He was a farmer was a member of Radford Baptist Church.
He is survived by his brothers, Charlie Cassidy, Flavius Cassidy & wife, Violet, all of Moneta; his sisters, Mary Ayers of Gretna, Sarah Cassidy, Margaret Cassidy, Peggy Cassidy all of Moneta.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 am at Radford Baptist Chapel with Rev. Karl Hofheinz & Rev. Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Radford Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 until 7 PM at the church. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
