Andrew Calvin Williamson, 90 of Montvale, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016. He was born on Saturday, July 4, 1925 in Bedford County, a son of the late Roy James Williamson and Tinnie Estelle St. Clair Williamson. He was a longtime employee of Norfolk & Western Railroad, was a former fire chief of Montvale Volunteer Fire Department, a deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a U. S. Army veteran having served during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Watson Williamson; his sons, Steve Williamson (Glenda) of Roanoke, Mike Williamson (Vickie) of Vinton; his daughter, Suzanne Williamson (Cathy) of Thaxton; four grandsons, Travis Winoker (Kristie), Ben Williamson (Liberty), Nathan Williamson, Patrick Williamson and his great grandchildren, Greyson, Kynley, Sophie Winoker. The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Montvale Fire Department, 1001 Volunteer Street, Montvale, VA 24122. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 10:00 am at the graveside at Glade Creek Cemetery with Pastor Bill Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
