My heart goes out to the family & friends of Darryl. I was fortunate enough to know Darryl & he truely cared about everyone. Darryl was a dedicated officer of the law & went above & beyond to help you. I will always be thankful for all the help he gave me & outside of his job he still cared & always talked to you. Heaven is blessed to have Darryl back home to start his new life. Rest in Peace Darryl. You will be missed.

I came to Bedford in 1986, and I met all of the police officer's and deputies, including Darryl Saunders. Them all of us were very close, we handled calls separately and together, and when we did, well all went flying in different directions. I can tell you that when Darryl showed up you knew you were going to ok and vice a versa. When I got my Weapon/Explosive K-9, He had a K-9 trained for narcotics. when possible, we tried to train together. I had a lot of respect for Darryl then and I still to this day and will forever. I miss you and will love you as a brother, because you are. I will see you again.

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. I only knew Darryl for the last 5 years through church and a mission trip to Haiti. He was a gentle giant and loved the Lord! He will be missed but rest assured, he is in a better place. May the Lord comfort and strengthen you in the days ahead.

So sorry for your great loss. I knew your father for many years as I was a BCSO volunteer and then an employee for almost ten years. A funny little story for you I was alone in in the office one very warm day and not feeling well so I dozed off he came in and stood for a little while then cleared his throat to wake me and I looked up and there he was with that grin he had I was embarrassed he said you're ok I got him what he came down for and he smiled and said go back to sleep we have all done that before. He never told anyone.
Love and prayers,
Barbara Dillon

It is with a great deal of sadness that I send this condolence. Darryl will be deeply missed by all. He had a straight forward manner, and a matter of fact way of approaching things and expressing himself. But underneath that was a man who enjoyed the company of others, was always willing to lend a hand, and loved to engage in witty banter with his friends. He was a devoted member of the Masonic Fraternity and could always be found working behind the scenes to ensure everything was done to perfection. He was immensely proud to have been a District Deputy Grand Master this past year. I am honored to say he was my friend and my Brother. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family now and we will always keep the memory of our dear Brother in our hearts.
