Florence Gibbs Davis, 85 of Forest, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Campbell Rest Home. She was born on Thursday, June 26, 1930 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late William Wyatt David Gibbs and Janie Kathleen Evans Gibbs Padgett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Bernard Davis. She is survived by her sons, Wyatt Bernard Davis, Walter Edward Davis & wife, Sandra all of Forest, James Read Davis of Beaver, WV; her daughters, Alline Davis Rhodes & husband, Ken of Fletcher, NC, Sarah Davis Turner of Forest,; her brothers, Gordon Padgett, Henry Padgett, both of Lynchburg, Charlie Padgett of Rustburg; as well as eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 11:00 am at Timber Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Murphy & Rev. Phillip Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
