David Anthony Bowyer, Sr., 58 of Bedford, passed away suddenly Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on Monday, May 27, 1957 in Bedford County, a son of Lucille Martin who survives and the late Finn David Bowyer. He was the loving & devoted husband of Debbie Estelle Bowyer.
In life, David was an avid bass fisherman, hunter, devoted husband, loving father and a truly exceptional Paw-Paw. He also enjoyed attending concerts with his wife and trips to the beach with family & friends.
In addition to his wife & mother, he is survived by his sons, Michael, Mark (India), Tony, Trevor (Afton); his step-siblings, Troy (Angie), Tracie (Ronald); his grandchildren, Aaron, Christopher, Noah, Aiden, Ava, Layla, Kayleigh, Ally & soon to be born, Owen; his lifelong best friend, Jack Mann (Lisa) & his step-father, Louis Martin.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford
