Larry Eugene Wood, 68 of Hurt, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, July 29, 1947 in Lynchburg, a son of the late John Edward Wood and Erma Roberts Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Debra Lee Maul Wood; his sons, Greg Wood of Goode, Kenny Wood of Huddleston, Trey Wood, Tanner Wood both of Hurt; his daughter, Tonya Blair of Bedford; his step-daughter, Shannon Rigney of Chatham; his step-sons, Travis Green, Josh Green both of Hurt; his brothers, John Wood of Huddleston, Doug Wood of Hurt; his sister, Gloria Sloss of Bedford as well as twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 5:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston at with Rev. Danny Holdren officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
