Catherine Williams Overstreet, 86 of Bedford, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Berkshire Nursing Home. She was born on Tuesday, September 10, 1929 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Isaac Carter Williams and Flora Hale Williams.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and was previously employed as a caretaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Wright; a grandson, Nicholas; two granddaughters, Melissa & Alaina (Dexter); her great-grandchildren, Harper Catherine, Kiarie, Isaiah; her sisters, Madeline Mae Caldwell of Roanoke, Frances Marie McLaughlin of Moneta, Mary Jane Teass of Roanoke; her brothers, Edgar Lee Williams & wife, Edith of Chesapeake, Carl Allen Williams of FL, Charles Edsel Williams & wife, Carolyn of Moneta, Carter Hale Williams of Bedford.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
