I would like to thank Dr. Frank for his mentoring and helping me to study D. Min. at Liberty University in 2006. I still remember his story about his decision to move to Lynchburg to help the seminary with Dr.Towns and Dr.Falwell. His wife said "you pray, I pack." Thank you for teaching me to serve as a family team and thank you for teaching me many things, how to get things done to give God glory.
I will do my best as a champion for Christ.
See you again.

Dr. Schmitt will always hold a special place in my heart! He went far beyond what some professors did to make his courses accessible for me, long before anyone ever heard of accessibility. I will be praying for his wife & family!

Bobbie....many condolences and heartfelt sympathies are being sent to you today. I so remember the two of you in ministry at Hyland Heights Baptist Church. My fondest times were the classes Dr. Schmitt taught on Sunday nights where Kathy Lillard Smith and I studied the book of Mark for credit at Liberty (before it was called Liberty)! He was a gentle, kind man full of wisdom and an amazing teacher of God's Word.
I pray God will comfort each of you in the coming days. Since Dad passed and Mama is now at Liberty Ridge, I find heaven is growing sweeter each and every day. Won't it be grand when we all meet around the throne of grace and mercy and never have to say good-bye again? Praise God for preparing a place especially for each of us through the blood of our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ!
Blessings to you, my friend.
In Him,
Cookie Garbee White

The home going of Dr. Schmitt was a surprise to me. As I was going through my emails and FaceBook info, I read about his homegoing. Our prayers are with his family and friends. I attended Liberty in the seventies, and that is where we met. He was a wonderful man who loved God. His life will always be remembered, and I look forward to seeing him again in Glory. There is going to be a great reunion in heaven, and I am sure it began as entered in the gates. God Bless you all,
Your Servants,
Dr. David N. & Susan Smeltz

I was a member at Hyland Heights Baptist Church for ten years, and always valued my friendship with Frank. As a newly married man, I sought advice from him on how to be a good husband and dedicated church worker, as well as how to be a great testimony for Christ. I valued his input, and enjoyed hearing his stories about the early days at Liberty. There were some times he filled in on Wednesday nights at Prayer Meeting, and I enjoyed hearing his Spirit filled preaching. He will certainly be missed on this side of Eternity. I look forward to the day when I will see him again in Heaven. My prayers are for his family and his many friends.
