Sarah Carter Carter, 80 of Thaxton, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was born on Thursday, May 7, 1936 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Henry Jackson Carter and Ellen Heck Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Randolph Carter.
She was retired from Golden West Foods. Sarah is survived by her sons, Fredrick J. Carter & wife, Gail of Thaxton, Robert O. Carter of Bedford; her sisters, Nella Ruff of Bedford, Callie Dooley of Thaxton; her brother, Otey Carter of Bedford.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford. There will be no services.
