Robert Jenkins, 82 of Huddleston, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, July 12, 1934 in Jones Co., NC, a son of the late William McKinley Jenkins and Florence Adams Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by three sisters & four brothers.
He was U. S. Navy, retired and was also retired from R. R. Donnelley, was a member of Mentow Lodge 180 AF & AM, Shriners International and also Bethesda United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy H. Jenkins; his daughters, Donna Jenkins Lindsay & fiance, M. Bruce Gibson of Huddleston, Debra A. Jenkins & friend, Tommy Shields of Huddleston; his son, Robert Darrell Jenkins & wife, Annette of Huddleston; his grandchildren, Meagan, Melinda, Coey, Clay, Alisa & Katalin; his great-grandchildren, Kayli, Grace, Olivia, Lillie, Bentley & Lainey as well as numerous nieces & nephews and his special caregivers, Reta, Tammey, Donnetta & Kristy.

The family requests those wishing to make memorials to consider Bethesda United Methodist Church Building Fund, 14426 Wyatt's Way, Huddleston, VA 24104.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Rick Barton officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
