Joyce Stevens Monday, 63 of Moneta, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Berkshire Nursing Home. She was born on Thursday, September 11, 1947 in Bedford Co., a daughter of the late James E. Stevens and Mattie Annie Overstreet Stevens. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ralena Adams Carter. She was a Supervisor at Bedford Weaving Mill and was a member of Mountain View Union Church. Surviving is her husband, Arthur Franklin Monday; a son, Terry Lee Adams & wife, Jessica of Goodview; a brother, Morris Stevens of Lynchburg; four sisters, Frances Burton & husband, Jack of Bedford; Mattie Harkey & husband, Bill of Evington; Nancy Orange & husband, Jesse, Betty Shelton & husband, Larry, all of Huddleston, three grandchildren, Savanna Adams, Terry Lee Adams, Jr., Raeven Carter. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Mountain View Union Church with Rev. Bob Sowder officiating. Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday after 2 PM and the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
