Obituary of Mary Elizabeth St. Clair

Mary Elizabeth St. Clair, 70 of Bedford, passed peacefully into Heaven on Sunday, January 1, 2017. Mary was an eleven year resident of the Bedford County Nursing Home, where she was loved and care for generously. In life, all who knew her will attest that Mary was a loving, pure, gentle soul with a spirit bigger than life itself. She was born on Monday, April 8, 1946 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late James and Pauline (Polly) Haymaker St. Clair. She was also preceded in death by her infant brothers, Paul, Jimmy & Derwood St. Clair, brothers, Hugh, Warren & Schofield (Sonny) St. Clair and sister Roberta (Ro) Alexander. Left to cherish her memory are sisters, Dorothy St. Clair, Alice Varelos, Nina Wells, Betty Cash & husband, William; brother, Homer St. Clair, brother-in-law, Carl Alexander; sister-in-law, Evelyn St. Clair as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends she made family. A memorial service celebrating Mary's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Troutville Assembly of God Church with Mr. Roger McKinney officiating. He family will receive friends immediately following the service for a time of sharing in the church fellowship hall.
