I just learned of Jimmy's death and extend sympathy to the family. I was in school with him all through our school years. He was always kind to everyone and all enjoyed his smile. He was well liked by everyone. May God cover you with His arms and give you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

I worked with Jimmie at RMIC having started there in 1991. He was so friendly, so kind, humorous and fun loving. Once when I was in Columbus, Ohio to do some training, my rental car had a flat tire in the restaurant parking lot where we were eating dinner. Jimmie came to the rescue and fixed the flat after the rental company told me to call AAA. I will never forget his kindness and smile. My sincere sympathy to the entire family.

My deepest condolences to the family. I came to know Jimmie when I started working at RMIC back in the mid '90's. When he learned that I was from Lynchburg and played sports, we immediately started talking about the many athletes from the surrounding area as well as college sports. Even after he left RMIC, I would sometimes see him come through our building on his way to lunch and we would pick up our conversation like he never left. He was always a joy to be around we will miss him dearly! We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers!

My deepest condolences to the Preston/Thomas family. I have only known Jimmie for a short amount of time. He was a very humble soul! I will never forget the conversation I had with him the day before he passed about the sticky note in the refrigerator on a bottle which said "don't throw away fresh milk" Jimmie. I asked him if he "milked" the cow for that milk to which that made him chuckle and share a story about a place where he actually purchased fresh milk. The irony to the story is that eventually the milk will have to be thrown away. Rest in Peace buddy, gone but not forgotten.

I am so sad to hear of Jimmie's passing. Jimmie was my manager when I was on assignment with RMIC in Jacksonville, Florida. He was the most caring, kindhearted, and easy-going person I ever worked for in my many years with RMIC. Jimmie, you and your smile and the support and understanding kindness you showed me will forever be appreciated. You will be missed.
My prayers are lifted to heaven for his family.

My deepest condolences go out to Jill and her entire family for their loss. What a kind Father, Grandfather and Husband he Jim was. He took such an interest in his Grandchildren and played an active roll as their Grandfather. He was always so chipper when I saw him with a warm smile on his face. The glass was half full for him and he saw the best in people. I know that Jill, his favorite Daughter ;) will miss him dearly and feels thankful that she spent the holidays with him enjoying family time well spent. Much love and big hugs to The Thomas Family for their loss. Heaven was blessed with a new angel.

Jimmie was the only person I recognized when I joined RMIC in 1986. He had visited with the S&L in Danville, Virginia a number of times when I worked there and it was great getting to know him. He was such a kind, thoughtful, and friendly guy who always had a smile on his face and a funny joke to tell. Jimmie was a dedicated and valued member of the RMIC family and he will be missed greatly by many.
My deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers go out to all his family.

I first met JP in 1988, when I started work at RMIC. Although I worked in the IS department, I worked closely with the UW Group. Jimmie always had a kind word or a joke, and he was responsible for putting a smile on the faces of many of his colleagues. To Jimmie's family, I send you my deepest, heartfelt sympathy. Jimmie was a wonderful man, and he will be sorely missed by so many. RIP JP.

Jimmy was always a friend! I remember him from my early years trying to get my "financial feet" on the ground, he was always there with an answer and a kind word. I remember playing ball with him, and we always teased him about being so short! He (as you certainly know) was a CLASS GUY. I remember he always loved to laugh. So sorry for your loss....but surely heaven gained an angel. God's peace to the family. rcd
