Obituary of John Malcolm Falls

John "Jack" Falls, 98, of Huddleston, VA was called to heaven on January 13, 2017. He was preceded in his death by his father, John V. Falls, mother Lula Cockes, all eight of his brothers and sisters, and his wife Lizzie Wilson Falls. He is survived by his second wife, Roxanne B. Falls.
Born on Oslin Creek in Bedford County on August 1, 1918, Jack was an avid horseman riding his horse up to a few weeks before his passing. He made a profound impact in the lives of many young people including his three children by marriage, many nieces and nephews, and eight grandchildren.
A member of Mount Herman Church since he was 14 years old, Jack was a pillar of the community. Jack chose to live out the last few weeks of his life at home receiving visits from family, friends, and many others whose lives he touched.

A celebration of Jack's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford. Interment will follow in Virgina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 15, 2017 from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
