Agnes Brown Krantz, 94 of Huddleston, passed away Friday, February 24, 2017 at The Summit Health Care Center. She was born on Saturday, February 10, 1923 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Colie Brown and Ethel Cundiff Brown. She was also preceded in death by husband of 68 years, Emmett Garland Krantz, her grandson, Keith Krantz and her brothers, Lewis, Odell, Dewey, Carl, Paul, Dennis & Lawrence Brown.
Agnes was a member of member of Huddleston United Methodist Church, retired from Rubatex Corporation, and was a devoted housewife, mother & grandmother who loved to host family gatherings and cook for all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Sherman W. Krantz (Iris), Robert E. Krantz (Barbara), Jean K. Brooks (Harold); her grandchildren, Kelly Whorley, Terry Whorley (Teresa) Kevin Krantz (Sarah), Hannah Krantz; step-grandchildren, Meagan Templeton, Corey Templeton (Rungnada), Stacey Brooks, Jeff Brooks, Kristie B. Pitts (Eric), her brother, Fred Brown (Lottie) as well as numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Special thanks to the Summit Town Square Nurses, CNA's & aides & Centra Hospice. A special recognition to Crystal Falls for her attention to our mother in her last days.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. David Bayse & Pastor Byungchul Sung officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 4 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
