Janet Lee Kingery, 60 of Thaxton, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at her residence. She was born on Tuesday, July 17, 1956 in Roanoke, a daughter of the late Carlton Kingery and Shirley Mae Edwards Kingery. She was also preceded in death by her ex-husband, Hubert Lee Thurman, sister, Carolyn Lowder & a grandson, Jimmy Williams.
She is survived by her sons, Steven T. Kingery, Hubert Thurman & wife, Salena, both of Moneta; daughter, Tammy L. Williams & husband, Robert of Moneta; her brother, Carlton Kingery of Moneta; her sister, Cindy Boris of Roanoke; grandchildren, Robert W. Martin & friend, Danielle Nelson, Christopher Williams, Justin Kingery, Michael L. Thurman, Ashley B. Thurman as well as three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens at 2 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2017 with Rev. Mickie Derrow officiating. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
