William Henry Varnadore, 90 of Hurt, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2017 at his residence. He was born on Thursday, April 1, 1926 in Montgomery, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Elizabeth Pagans Varnadore.
He was a retired from English Construction, was a U. S. Navy Veteran of World War II and was a charter member of the Altavista Moose Lodge # 1433.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Varnadore of Altavista; Bill Varnadore & wife, Shirley of Grit, Leonard Keith Varnadore & wife, Beverly of Hurt, four grandchildren & seven great grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Marjorie Rorer of Lynchburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Mark Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
