Obituary of Winston Calvin Lynch

Winston Calvin Lynch, 88 of Bedford, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was born September 16, 1928 in Moneta, a son of the late Jesse Allen Lynch and Florence Brown Lynch. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lera Jane Martin Lynch and his brother, Robert Lynch. He was employed from the Lane Company and retired from Rubatex Corporation and Miller’s Jewelry. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Miller & husband, Glenn of Bedford; three sisters, Frances Tuck & husband, Jim of Lynchburg, Barbara Booth & husband, Jimmy of Rustburg; Margaret Nethercutt & husband, Ray of Nathalie; his sister-in-law Mary Lynch of Salem and his grandson, Brian Miller of Hurt. The family would like to thank the staff at Lynchburg Health & Rehab for the wonderful care he received. He was loved by all who met him and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bedford Cares, 1825 Island Creek Road, Huddleston, VA 24104 in memory of his love of cats. The family will receive friends beginning at 2 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 3 PM in the chapel with Rev.
