Obituary of Shirley Witt Dean

Shirley Witt Dean, 90 of Forest and formerly of Bedford, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 in Fairmont Crossing. 

She was born August 19, 1928 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Woodson Alexander Witt and Minnie Davis Mitchell Witt.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard N. Dean.

She was a member of Bedford Christian Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis D. Swenson & husband, Steve of Franklin County; her son, Bernie Dean & wife, JoAnn of Forest; her grandchildren, Kristi Krantz, Rodney Wuergler (Morgan) Amanda Dean, Abbey Harris (Brad) as well as her great grandchildren, Austin & Brycen Wuergler, Dakota Krantz, Carley & Brody Harris.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 PM on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford and a funeral service will follow at 3 PM in the chapel with Rev. David Walton & Rev. Jim Compton officiating.  Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
