So, so sorry. Shelvie has always been a very special woman and very loved part of our family and she will be terribly missed, forever loved and never forgotten. So sad to hear of Shelvie's passing. We were best friends and classmates at Hurley High and graduated together in 1965. Praying for the family. I will always cherish the memories we made together.

Shelvie cared so much for others in so many different ways. I can't count the times she would take my son into cut his hair and my daughter's hair for proms and pageants anytime. It never mattered when our family visited her home we were always welcomed with open arms. She was always so worried about others no matter how she felt she wanted to make sure we had eat and my husband had his honey for allergies. She was interested & wanted to hear about what we were doing and how we were doing? Her strength and care for others truly amazed me! As I write this, tears come to my eyes because I, my family, her family, and so many others will miss her and cherish her forever. However, she is a angel of god now in a beautiful place where no pain exist that is experienced here on earth. My heart breaks for her family that I know loves her so very much.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. There’s just no words to explain the feeling of loosing your mom and grandma.
We love Shelvie. She was a very special lady to all of my family. She cut most of my family’s hair for many years. When I heard off Shelvie’s homegoing, I thought about my mom, Rachel Chattin, who has been in heaven for 8 years now. Mama loved Shelvie, and some of the highlights of her life ways going to Shelvie’s to get her hair cut. And as I think of them both now, I think of what a blessing it is that they are with the Lord, and as Christians, we will see them again.
