My love and prayers to Sharon's family.
I met Sharon in 1986 when I moved to Bedford to work at Main Street United Methodist Church. She volunteered in the children's department, kindergarten and nursery, for many years. She loved children and should have been a teacher but circumstances prevented that. We talked often and even when I left my work at the church or the state of Virginia, Sharon called and wrote to me. She was giving and selfless. I will miss her. The world has lost a kind soul and we are all diminished by it.

Sweet Sharon, friend to many, advocate for the poor and downtrodden, loyal, and true. Your body is gone, but your sweet spirit stays with us. Fly high girl!!!

Even though I didn't get to know Sharon, she was at the Church for so many activities, always friendly, always introducing herself.
I will miss her presence. My sympathy to her remaining loved ones. R.I.P., Sharon.
