Glenn Ayers was my junior and senior year English teacher at Staunton River High School from 1963 to 1965. He was an excellent teacher who related to his students and did his best to show them the joy of learning. When I became a teacher in 1969, he was in many ways my role model. I thought about him often during my 43 years of teaching.
He will indeed be missed by family, friends, students, and Bedford County.
