Joe was one of those guys that I count as a dear friend and colleague at the paper mill and away from it. Joe and Jeremy helped me and my family move to our new home in Forest in 1993. Joe and I had many conversations over the years and I can say with certainty that we did not always agree, but we always agreed to respect the other person. I will greatly miss his smile and his candor! You lived your life well here on earth, Joe! Well done!!

Sunday 5 Jan was truly a very sad day. Joe was one of the most generous, kind, empathetic, giving people our family has ever met. A true Christian is word and deed. He will be sorely missed and our heart will have a large void with the loss of his friendship. It is with the most heartfelt condolences of the Holland family,
Virginia, Kevin, Jeri, & Steph

I have worked as a machine clothing supplier at the Big Island mill for 25 years. During a good many of those years, I worked with Joe on #4 Machine, and, I must say, I have never met a better human being in my life. Joe was always friendly, sincere, funny, and an absolute joy to work with. I always looked forward to seeing his smiling face and he will be sorely missed by many folks. I always referred to Joe as a "good ole country boy" and "salt of the earth". During the past several years, I have worked closely with Joe's son, Jeremy, at the paper mill. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, is the best way to describe Jeremy. We pray for comfort and strength for the entire Davis family during this time.

Q: How did you meet Joseph?
A: I met Joe through my sister, Janice who is Joe's brother's girlfriend. I attended several of their Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners they had at Trinity. Joe and Josephine came to my mother's 90th birthday party. He was always friendly and had a welcoming spirit. He will be greatly missed.
