Obituary of Joseph Howard Davis

Joseph Howard Davis met His Lord, Jesus, face to face on Sunday, January 5 , 2025. Joseph was born on November 15, 1953, the son of Howard and Sarah Davis of Bedford, Va.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Gary, and leaves behind his wife, Josephine Davis; son, Jeremy Howard Davis (Jessica); daughter, Jennifer Ann Alderman (Craig); his stepchildren, Tony Ford (Kim), Dennis Ford (Robin), and Becky Scruggs. Joe also leaves behind his siblings, Brenda Hardy (Sam), Carolyn Markham, Tony Davis (Janice), and Barbara Owsley (Bill). Joe was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Joe was retired from the Georgia Pacific in Big Island and attended Trinity Baptist Church. He was known throughout the community for his giving heart and helping hands.

Joe’s life will be celebrated on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Owsley and Steve Ramsey officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church.
