Joseph Ray Dooley, 74 of Bedford, VA passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital. He was born on Tuesday, July 9, 1940 in Bedford County, a son of the late Glen Dooley and Viola Heck Dooley. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Miller & a granddaughter, Amanda Miller.
He was retired from Rubatex Corporation and was a member of Reality Ministries.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce Franklin Dooley; his daughter, Teresa Craft & husband, Bradey of Bedford; his granddaughters, Grace & Lilly Craft; his grandson, Bradley Miller; great grandchildren, Raven & Sora Miller; his brothers, Aubrey Dooley of Bedford, Billy Dooley of Thaxton, Harold Dooley of NC and his sister, Virginia Abbott of Bedford.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Rev. Danny Holdren officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Union Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3 until 5 PM at Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bedford.
